Apple quietly added the Genius tab to the App Store on iPad this morning. The App Store will prompt you to agree to a new set of terms and conditions and then you will be able to find new apps that are similar to apps you have already downloaded. The concept is the same as on iTunes and iPhone/iPod touch App Store but the interface is slick and fits the iPad’s screen-real estate very well.  Read More →

Apple is preparing to take the wraps off its heavily-updated MacBook Air, its poshest laptop which hasn’t really seen significant improvement since introduction. The new model will feature an 11.6-inch display and an Intel Core i-series ultra-low voltage processor, Digitimes tells us. The new MacBook Air is expected to reach us in the second half of 2010, at about the same time as the new model of iPod touch. The new model will be slimmer...

When Apple does eventually offer the iPhone through Verizon it will feel the difference, with one analyst predicting we’ll see 12 million iPhone sales generate an additional $7 billion in revenue. A good call! Anyone still in denial that the future of the smartphone business is in the war between Apple and Google needs to take a look at the latest lawsuit to come out of Apple HQ. The latest litigation claims HTC and its Exedea subsidiary have infringed four distinct Apple patents , and, as Patently Apple notes, the lawsuit “focuses like a laser beam on smartphones incorporating the Android Operating System.” This is war. So what are the patents?...
